How to Save High Quality Facebook Videos Without an App

If you only need to grab a Facebook video every once in a while, you don't strictly need to install anything — your phone's browser can do it, with a bit of extra effort. Here's how, along with the trade-offs compared to a dedicated Facebook video downloader.

Method: Use Facebook's mobile site

1. Open the video on m.facebook.com in your browser (not the app) — Facebook's mobile web player exposes a direct video URL that the app doesn't.
2. Long-press the video and look for a Save Video or Download option, if your browser offers one.
3. If no download prompt appears, open the page's developer tools (or a "view source" browser extension) and locate the .mp4 link in the video element, then open it directly to save it.

This works, but it's fiddly on a phone: mobile browsers hide developer tools by default, quality is often capped at SD, and the method breaks any time Facebook changes its page markup.
